Solar Tile Installation
Solar tiles sit in the roof instead of on top of it. This was the first tile system installed in the Middle East area, wired in a high voltage low frequency configuration and backed by 400 AH of storage, so the building carries its own load rather than borrowing it.

The detail
What the job actually involved.
The array
- Solar tiles laid as the roof surface rather than mounted above it
- High voltage low frequency configuration across the array
- Strings set out so shade on one part does not drag down the rest
- Roof penetrations and weatherproofing handled as part of the works
Storage and conversion
- 400 AH battery bank sized to carry the building through the evening
- Inverter and power cabinet installed and commissioned by GSS
- Protection, isolation and metering built into the same cabinet
- Changeover so the site rides through a grid cut instead of stopping
Why a client asks for this
- Grid supply that cannot be relied on hour to hour
- Fuel cost and noise from running a generator through the day
- A roof that has to stay a roof, visually and structurally
- A load worth carrying independently rather than partially offsetting
